  • Friuli Venezia Giulia: Carnia, the Tarvisio, the Julian Alps, Piancavallo, the Friulian Dolomites of Valcellina and Val Colvera, Val Tramontina, Val Cosa and Val D’Arzino.

Most popular ski resorts and stations

Ski resorts in the alpsCourmayeur. Courmayeur is an Italian town and commune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley, in northern Italy. It is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, in the Graian Alps range, and is crossed by the Dora Baltea.

  • Breuil – Cervinia. Breuil-Cervinia is a renowned high mountain alpine resort in the Valle d’Aosta autonomous region of Italy. Situated at 2,006 meters (6,581 ft) above sea level, just under the Cervino mount.
  • Livigno. Livigno is a town in the Alps. It belongs to the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy.
  • Sauze d’Oulx. Sauze d’Oulx is a town in the province of Turin, Piedmont. It was the site of the Freestyle Skiing events of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. It is part of the Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing area.
  • Sestriere. Sestriere is an alpine village in the Province of Turin. Sestriere is a popular skiing resort. It is part of the Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing area.
  • Cortina. Cortina d’Ampezzo is a town in the province of Belluno, Veneto. Located in the Dolomites, it is a popular winter sport resort.
  • Arabba. Is a town in the hearth of the Dolomites at 1602 meters.
  • Canazei di Fassa. Canazei is a village in the province of Trento in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. It’s a traditional ski resort with 175km of pistes.
  • Skiing walking Bardonecchia. Bardonecchia is a town located in the Province of Turin, in Piedmont. The town hosted the snowboarding events of the 2006 Winter Olympics.
  • Val Gardena. The Gardena Valley is a valley in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. It is one of the five valleys in the Dolomites.
  • Bormio. Bormio is a town located in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy (Italian Alps at the top of the Valtellina valley).
