  • To check and write email on the road, from any computer. Set up an email address with a free web-based email account such as Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail.  Email to yourself a list of your documents, tickets, airlines, Visa, Amex, embassy links, etc...
  • Set up an email auto-responder that tells people you are away for a while.

Make two photocopies of all your credit cards and your driving license and passport. Keep a copy at home. Take a copy with you and carry separate from the originals.

Also, check to see if any inoculations are required for travel to another country. If you're a divorced or single parent taking a child abroad, you may need to get a notarized authorization letter from the other parent.
